We all use metal tools occasionally in our household works. And at the same time it is very common that they get rust when they are kept unused for a brief period. What happens next, you get annoyed with it and get out for some other less important jobs. And if you badly need that tool, you would have to clean them up.

It is not easy to keep those tools rust free and if you live in a moist area, it may seem almost impossible. And rust does not get you away from the job alone; it also harms longevity of your tools.

So, how to remove rust from metal tools?

People have different opinions and tips in this matter to share with you. Here are some ways that you may employ to make your metal tools rust free.

Properly clean up and dry all the tolls after every use. You should also apply some wax (butcher’s wax) after certain period depending on your use of the tool and moisture of the location where they are kept, to keep them rust free. Do not even think about keeping the metal portion of the tool on the wet or moist ground. If you have no other option, cover the metal part properly with plastic wrapper so that it does not come in direct and constant contact with moist ground.

If the metal tool gets rust and you need to clean them up for use, sand it well and after the use, clean and wax it properly.

You can also create a mixture of motor oil and sand. When you have finished using the tool, simply shove them into the mixture. It would not simply clean the tools; you would also get an oil coating over it. In fact, this mixture also works to sharpen the tool a little bit. But, if you use a tool with mixed elements like metal and plastic or metal and rubber, it is better not to use this method. Sand can harm the longevity of elements like rubber or plastic. This process is perfect for simple tools like shovel or axe. And it is better to avoid using this process to clean up complex tools.

You can also try using lemon juice and Morton’s salt to clean rust from a metal body. But you would need to rub the metal clean – sometimes it is too tough and hazardous to clean something in this way where you would need to depend on your rubbing strength a lot. To rub the metal body, you may use a piece of cotton, scrubber or metal wire wool (be careful while using wools).

If you are not happy with these home made solutions, you can find some rust remover for metal tools and other metal items. These often work wonders if you can find the right cleaner for the right metal. You can follow the recommendations provided in the container or user manual to find out if that rust remover is the perfect one for you or not.

If you are not sure about it or if you want to clean mixed tools (rubber, plastic, metal etc), try using non-toxic or organic rust cleaners as they will not harm the soft portions. At the same time these organic cleaners are also harmless for your health. There are some really good organic rust cleaners in the market that cleans the rust very well but does not harm the color of the metal body. To add to this, you do not need to scrub or wipe the metal body after cleaning.

Seems fun? Check out your local shop or search internet for organic rust removers.

Candle wax has different types. There are cheap waxes that are made into candles and there are costly waxes that are also made into candles with slower melting rate.

There are different waxes used in candles. Some of these waxes have other uses. Listed below are the different types of waxes that are also commonly used in candle making.

Types candle wax

• Paraffin Wax:

A wax made of paraffin is a chemical preservative that is used commonly on fruits, vegetables, and candy. This is in order to create a shiny appearance, delay the moisture loss, and spoilage. Chocolate candy makers frequently use paraffin wax also. In fact, Paraffin wax is also regarded as the “baker’s wax or canning wax”.

A paraffin wax is flammable so make sure you do not overheat it. Just heat it gently on a double boiler or you can use a microwave and heat it simply up to the point where in the wax had dissolved. Paraffin wax is a white odorless, tasteless, waxy, solid component. Its usual melting point is around 48 to 65 degrees. When heated, the chemical composition of paraffin wax, especially the so-called chemical re-agents, remain unchanged but they readily burn.

Pure paraffin wax is a tremendous electrical insulator and has an electrical resistibility for about 50 to 100 degrees of temperature. A pure paraffin wax is not often utilized in order to create an original statute model or for casting metal.

• Paraffin or Mineral Oil

Liquid paraffin waxes are also known as mineral oil. This form of paraffin wax is a combination of heavier alkaline and has an amount of terms featured as nojul, alboline, adepsine oil, glymbol, saxol, and medical paraffin or USP mineral oil.

This type of wax has a thickness of around 0.8g/cm. This liquid paraffin is utilized in order to help the bowel movement of persons suffering from chronic constipation. In mechanical integration and baking, mineral oil must be applied in order to make sure that the loaves of bread, or whatsoever, are simply out when cooked. Mineral oils can be used for coating fruits as well.

• Soy wax

The Soy wax was discovered during the late period of the 19th century. It was when Michael Richards looked to find a cheaper alternative for beeswax. Therefore, Michael Richards discovered and developed the soy wax.

The beeswax products, as he understands, have an increasing demand for a natural wax candle. Michael Richards has tested dissimilar normal plant waxes and finally finished up with a vegetable and fruit wax, which was created with parts from hydrogenated mineral oil, cooking oil, palm oil and the combination of beeswax, and soy wax. The result was the creation of a cheap normal wax candle.

In late 1996, Michael Richard’s succeeded in changing the costly beeswax with palm and soy wax. The candle wax is mostly composed of hydrogenated mineral oil. Michael Richards also tested several combinations of soy wax for bottle candles and free position candles, which required a higher hot point.

• Bees Wax

Beeswax is a natural wax that was created in the beehive of the genus. Beeswax is created by young little worker bees for around 15 up to 20 days. This is in order to form the scales buried by glands. The worker bees have a somewhat protector gear on their bodies.

Worker bees have eight wax-producing mirror glands on their inner sides. The beeswax is almost white in color but sometimes it can possess the color blue or color green by incorporation of pollen oils. The beeswax scale is around 3 mm diagonally and 0.4 mm wide. Aside from this, around 1300 is required to create a honeycomb.

• Palm Wax

Palm wax is made from pure natural palm oil based on raw materials. The palm wax is unlike other waxes since they form crystal-like substances on the outer side of the candle. Palm wax burns at a much cooler and slower rate than several waxes.

Candle waxes such as palm wax is biodegradable and water-soluble. Palm wax candles have approximately 45 percent longer burn time as compared to the usual sized paraffin wax candle. The palm wax candle also releases the scent throughout the entire candle. The scent of a palm wax candle does not fade away like other candles. The palm wax has a higher yield and it is tougher than other oil seed crops. No fertilizers or chemical treatments are required for its cultivation. Palm wax is a unique crystalline figure.

The Bermuda grass or “Cynodon Dactylon” is a type of grass native to Australia, Asia, Southern Europe and North Africa. Aside from being tough and fast growing, it can creep underneath the ground and it will root every time a node will touch the ground. With this tactic, it can then form a dense type of mat.

The Bermuda grass has the scientific and binomial name “Cynodon Dactylon”. It belongs to the Kingdom Plantae, Division Magnoliophyta, Class Liliopsida, Order Poales, Family Poaceae, Genus Cynodon and Species C. Dactylon.

Other terms for the Bermuda grass are as follows:

• Durva grass

• Dog’s Tooth grass

• Devil’s grass

• Bahama grass

• Indian Doab

• Couch grass

• Scutch grass

• Grama

The Bermuda grass is a type of grass native to Australia, Asia, Southern Europe and North Africa. Although it is called Bermuda, it got it’s named due to its abundance as a kind of invasive species in Bermuda.

The Bermuda grass’ blades feature a sort of grey-green coloration. They are generally four up to fifteen centimeters short and they have rough edges. The Bermuda grass’ erect stems have the capacity to grow from one up to thirty centimeters tall. In fact, it is very rare that you will see a Bermuda grass about 90 centimeters tall. Aside from this, its stems are somehow flattened and oftentimes showcasing a tinged purple for its coloration.

Moreover, the production of the Bermuda’s seed heads is usually in clusters of three up to seven spikes at the top portion of its stem. Every spike is measured and estimated to be about three up to six centimeters long.

Furthermore, the Bermuda grass has a deep rooted system. During drought situations, and considering that there’s a penetrable soil, its root system has the capacity to grow for more than two meters deep. This is although a large fraction of its root mass is approximately not more than 60 centimeters below the surface.

The Bermuda will creep underneath the ground and it will root every time a node will touch the ground, which then forms a dense type of mat. Aside from this, the Bermuda grass reproduces via seeds that run through rhizomes and runners. These seeds will grow starting at a temperature of more than 15 degrees Celsius. Optimum growth will also run between 24 degrees up to 37 degrees Celsius. During the winter season, the grass will become dormant and brownish in color. Only a full sunlight can promote a Bermuda grass’ growth. On the other hand, it can be retarded by a complete shade, such as a place near tree trunks.

With this, it is also a noted fact that the Bermuda grass can only be cultivated within the world’s warm climate regions. This is indicated to be thirty degrees south and about thirty degrees north in latitude. In the United States, it is only found along the country’s southern half, the regions with warm climates.

Since it is tough and fast growing, Bermuda grass is famously used for sports fields and cemeteries. Another reason is the fact that when it gets damaged, it has the ability to recover quickly, like when you cut it. In other temperate and warm climates, it is a noted desirable “turf grass”. Since it is also very aggressive and it tends to crowd out a majority of other grasses, plus invade other habitats, as already mentioned above, it is regarded as an invasive type of species. In fact, it can even grow in very poor soil. This is where gardeners derived its other name, “Devil grass”, from.

Hence, this weed, grass or Bermuda, is generally more native to the famous African Savannah. There are even instances where in fires in the Savanna area tends to destroy the Bermuda grasses there but the Bermuda was still able to recover quickly. It is even the first one to actually grow back.

Although it is a good choice of grass for dry sections, especially since it has the capability to spread very easily, it is also indicated to grow best in areas where there is heavy rainfall. This is because this region can keep the Bermuda’s leaves moist, green and having purple tips. Thus, due to its long roots, the Bermuda grass is very hard to destroy. You still need to apply herbicides to it. Plus, when it invades various other grasses, it has the tendency to develop into an “unmanageable weed”. This is actually a big problem of homeowners who already desire a different type of grass for their lawn. Moreover, it can disrupt the actual production of vegetables and low-growing fruits, such as summer squash and strawberries.

In the United States, the introduction of the Bermuda grass was from the plantings taken from Bermuda. Lawns in the United States’ southeastern regions adore this grass. Floridians, on the other hand, have a hard time growing the Bermuda due to a type of pest called Sting Nematode.

Yet, with the many wonderful inventions and discoveries in Science, the Bermuda grass is now very convenient in animal husbandry and farming. It is the best grass for cattle. It can also help stem serious land erosion brought about by over watering or excess rains.

Furthermore, the Bermuda grass has known ancient significance. The Bermuda grass is indicated to be the selected grass utilized in feeding India’s sacred cows. Ancient Romans utilized the liquid derived from the Bermuda grass’ stems as a type of diuretic.

Thus, another noted fact bout the C. Dactylon or Bermuda grass is that it has medicinal properties that are still being studied. This is although claims for this regard still lack the necessary scientific evidence up to now.

It is also noted that modern Homeopathy includes juices from the Bermuda grass for mixes that can reduce a person’s sensitivity to allergies. This is by placing small amounts of recognized allergens. Hence, it is also a fact that the Bermuda grass is an identified allergen. This is why it can lead to stuffy nose or even allergic symptoms for both people and animals. In a sense, this where the problem sinks in, the Bermuda grass may result to more problems, health wise, rather than it can actually cure illnesses.

Lastly, the Bermuda grass is noted to possibly give relief for chronic diarrhea or utilized as a type of antiseptic.

Tax time is coming around again. I’m reminded because I just placed my order for the 2007 version of TurboTax, which is a software application that guides me through federal and Pennsylvania tax return preparation. The damn tax code has become so complex, you really need either a good accountant or a tax package to get it right.

Taxes are everywhere, on everything. Federal income tax, Social Security, Medicare, federal death tax, Medicaid, state income tax, state sales tax, state death tax … let me catch my breath. Certain cities or counties get you for an income tax or a wage tax or maybe even a sales tax. Then there are the smaller but still irritating levies like federal and state gasoline taxes, the state automobile registration tax, the hotel room occupancy tax (talk about taxation without representation!) and the federal telephone taxes (check out your phone bill for the beloved Federal Subscriber Line Charge and the smaller, but still irritating Federal Universal Service Fee). And if you have a small business, well, I won’t get into that.

They tax you when you earn, they tax you when you buy and they tax you when you die. Whatever you do, the Taxman has his hand in your pocket. If they could figure out how to do it, they’d tax you for bodily functions. Maybe a little meter on the toilet. Two cents per flush. Wireless, of course.

And think about the skillions of hours that are wasted on tax planning, preparation and collection. Tax attorneys, tax accountants, tax return software, IRS employees, state and local tax collectors, they are all working day and night on our taxes. While you’re sleeping innocently in your bed, an IRS computer is selecting you for an audit. And if you are in a hotel, you’re paying tax to sleep while that IRS computer is humming away. Your federal government at work.

I read somewhere that the top half of earners pay 96% of federal income taxes while the lower half pays 4%. The principle that a person with a larger income should pay more in taxes is fair, but 96% seems a bit extreme. Every citizen with a decent income, it seems to me, should pay something in taxes. Even if it’s only a couple of bucks withheld from each paycheck, at least you’re holding up your end as best you can.

My personal choice would be for a flat income tax. No tax on the first twenty five grand, then 15% on everything after that. Or something similar. Allow a few deductibles such as spouse and children, mortgage and medical. Keep it really simple, so that a normal person could file their return without screaming. That’s right, tax prep would become the no scream zone. Maybe even no cursing … okay, I lost my head. Anyway, I enjoy cursing at my return.

It’s interesting that our government has too much money and yet not enough. A duality that would interest a quantum mechanics researcher. Here’s the issue: the government needs more money to fund entitlements such as Social Security and Medicare, but a big tax increase might plunge the economy into recession. And recessions are not good for incumbent politicians.

The simple truth is that people should be allowed to keep the bulk of the money they earn. They know what they need better than a government bureaucrat. Plus, the more an entrepreneur can keep, the more likely she is to invest her money in a small business, and that’s what drives the economy. JFK knew that and so did Reagan and Bush 43.

Entitlements are out of control. Already Medicare has more money going out in benefits than tax payments coming in. Social Security is still in the black, but economists predict 2017 as the date it goes into the red. To fund these deficits, the government has to increase its borrowing, raise taxes or divert funds from other programs. These are not good alternatives, so why don’t we actually try to fix these creaky old programs. To put it bluntly, they suck. No rational young person would invest his money in Social Security if he had a choice. Let’s fix the damn thing!

Unfortunately, it’s not going to happen. Here’s a bold prediction — they’ll eventually put together a bipartisan, blue ribbon, lip smacking panel of old pols and they’ll recommend … hold your breath … raising Social Security taxes.

Let’s face it, we fifty plus citizens are pretty demanding. We coughed up money supporting prior generations, so we want our fair share of the benefits when we get older. Without these entitlements, many baby boomers will have a tough retirement. If you can afford to retire.

But let’s be fair and look at it from the point of the twenty something working stiff. The ratio of retired persons to workers is getting worse year by year. A young guy or gal has forty or fifty years of ever increasing Social Security taxes to pay. They are not happy and I don’t blame them.

Reading charts is a tricky thing, one you need training to do successfully. A person without training will see simply up-and-down moves with no meaning. Those trained in analysis, however, can discern the meaning of these sometimes seemingly random movements. Those ‘in the know’ can use the charts to see what the future holds for stock prices. There is not necessarily one pattern that can be used to make good predictions but when the dozens and dozens of different patterns, all of the indicators, are taken together, those with practice can be very good indeed at anticipating future market movements.

Stock Price Patterns - One commonly used pattern to watch for is Cup and Handle. A high price to start then a dip and then back up forms the cup. Then when prices level out for a bit you have the handle. Buying on the handle can bring you quite satisfactory profits.

Head and Shoulders is another commonly watched pattern to look for. The first shoulder is a peak in price. Then follows a dip, then a second, higher, peak forms the head. This is followed by a dip and then the rise that forms the second shoulder. This is interpreted bearishly and you should look for prices to fall significantly after the second shoulder.

Moving Average - Hands down, the most used indicator is the Moving Average. For a 30 day moving average the Average price over time is calculated by adding the closing prices each day for 30 days together and then dividing by 30. Moving averages are also frequently used for 20, 50, 100 and 200 days. Moving averages are plotted onto a graph as a line that goes up and down as the price changes. When you see prices fall below the moving average they often will continue that fall. On the other hand, a rise above the moving average often signals a continued rise.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is used to analyze the number of days a stock ends up with the number of days it finishes down. It is calculated as follows. You take the closing price of a particular stock over a certain period, (usually between 9 and 15 days) divide the average number of days with an up finish by the average number of days with a down closing. Then add this number to one and use the result to divide 100. Subtract that result from 100. This gives you the RSI, which has a range between 0 and 100.

Often an RSI above 70 is a signal that a particular stock is overbought and a fall in price can be expected. Conversely, an RSI below 30 can be a good signal that it is time to buy. Of course, these numbers must be used in conjunction with an appreciation of how the market stands as a whole. What is a high or low RSI varies between a bull and bear market. If you chart RSI over longer periods the movement becomes less abrupt so looking at charts that cover a year or more gives a good indication of how that stock normally moves against its RSI.

Unlike the RSI, which follows only stock prices, The Money Flow Index, also known as MFI, also includes the number of shares traded. This indicator also varies from 0 to 100. As with the RSI, 30 is usually a good place to look at buying and 70 is where selling should be considered. And again as with the RSI, tracking the MFI over longer periods gives a more accurate result.

For Bollinger Bands three lines are charted on a graph and read together. Market volatility is measured in the upper and lower lines. A more volatile market moves the lines apart and when the market is quieter the lines move toward each other. The simple moving average is plotted on the middle line. When prices rise toward the upper line it signals that an overbought stock is due for a fall in price. As you would expect, then, when the market price falls toward the bottom band a rise in price should be expected. Of course, no single indicator should be used in isolation. Those who succeed as technical analysts consistently look at a number of indicators before making trading decisions.

Individual voluntary agreements, otherwise called IVAs, are a process in the United Kingdom that an individual may be eligible for if they are deeply in debt but want to avoid bankruptcy. An IVA is an agreement that is agreed upon between the creditors and the individual. The amount will vary greatly and is dependent upon the borrower’s own situation. Creditors are not required to agree with the amount in an individual voluntary agreement but they usually choose to do so because IVSs provide a better return for creditors than bankruptcy would. There are many pros and cons attached to these agreements and it’s important to understand them before committing to it.

One benefit is that a person’s financial situation can remain confidential. Bankruptcy announcements are often broadcast in the newspaper but this is not so for IVAs. Although creditors may still consider you a risk because it does appear on your credit report, the agreement is solely between you and the creditor. Another positive aspect of IVAs is the amount of time they are effective. While bankruptcy runs out after one year, an IVA policy may cover as many as five years! The cost of a bankruptcy is also much more expensive than that of an IVA.

An IVA also holds many more benefits than other debt management systems when it refers to the protection that it provides. Once a creditor has agreed to a set amount, they cannot withdraw from the agreement. This cannot always be done in other debt management processes. Once a creditor has agreed to the IVA, they are bound to that agreement and cannot decide not to partake in it at any point. An individual voluntary agreement will show up on a credit report just as a file for bankruptcy would however, they do show a willingness to repay the debt whereas with bankruptcy, a borrower has claimed that they are not paying the debt back.

Individual voluntary agreements can also work better in business than bankruptcy. Should a partner in a company file for bankruptcy, they would generally need to dissolve the partnership of the company and they would also be required to tell any suppliers that they have filed for bankruptcy.

If a borrower should apply for credit and a creditor looks at their credit report, the IVA will show on the credit report, as mentioned above. However, this will not automatically dismiss the borrower as a good loan candidate. This would not be the case with bankruptcy as bankruptcy is considered to be the worst financial situation and no lenders will take on bankruptcy cases.

However, the main advantage to IVAs is that the borrower still has complete control over their home. This is not the case in bankruptcy and usually the home will be taken from the borrower and sold to cover the borrower’s debts.

One of the only disadvantages to an individual voluntary agreement is that it does appear on your credit report. It will only appear for a short period of time but it will still be there. Although this is a negative, it’s important to consider how important that really is. If you are deep in debt and considering an IVA the chances are that the credit report already has a few smudges on it and that even if it doesn’t, if you don’t do something to help yourself, such as an IVA, it won’t take long for the smudges to get there!

A motor trade insurance policy is important if you work in a business that buys, sells, or fixes cars. Trade insurance protects the business owners and/or the individuals working in the business from financial loss should an unpleasant situation occur. No matter how big or how small the business, motor trade insurance is an extremely important part of running that business! However, because every business is different, there are many different types of motor trade insurance policies. The different types will offer different degrees of coverage, different premiums and different features.

There are five main types of trade insurance that you can choose from. These are the third-party only, also known as third part; fire and theft; comprehensive; liability; and a combined policy. When choosing among these options, you must determine what the needs of your business are to determine what type of policy will be best for you. Some different features included on motor trade insurance policy may include administrative benefits, and social and personal use of any vehicles to specified drivers.

One type of a motor trade insurance policy that is required by law for certain types of traders is the third party only motor trade insurance policy. The types of traders that are legally responsible to own such a policy are buyers and sellers; those working as mobile tuners; a repairs man, or a Valier or fitter. This is generally a type of policy that is needed if the insured is going to be working on cars. It’s a particularly important type because it holds the insured responsible should the repairs fail and someone get into a car accident. This type of insurance is especially important if the insured will be driving any car out on the road. Another option with this type of insurance is fire and theft. This type of motor trade insurance policy combines all the protection with the third party only policy but adds on protection in case of fire or theft.

The comprehensive policy includes the same type of coverage as the third party only policy but it also includes a comprehensive element. Comprehensive coverage is insurance that will cover the costs of repairing or replacing the insured’s car should it become damaged from the result of something that was not an accident. The liability type of motor trade insurance provides protection for a business that will be having the public on their property while providing a service for them. Liability coverage however, plays its most important role by covering the owner who hires the workers that are working on the vehicles. There are also three different types of liability coverage. These types are public; employers and product; and sales and service indemnity.

Many of the different types of trade insurance policies overlap one another and have very subtle differences. It’s very important to sit down with a professional motor trade insurance agent to find out what policy is going to suit you best. If an owner purchases a trade insurance policy that is not right for their business, they will likely end up paying too much money for their policy or finding out that they don’t have the proper protection at a very inopportune time.

Think of how much you have invested to get that 6×6 square-meter apartment. Does an old cabinet take over 1/36 of your space, or 2.7 of your investment? However, what could be a nuisance to you is a huge relief to others. Your best option to free that space in your room is to donate furniture that you no longer need. Whether we like it or not, one or two of the furniture in our homes have already outlived its usefulness.

Auctioning that good old furniture on eBay is a wonderful idea. However, no one living 20-kilometers away would seriously pay attention to buying it when they have to pick it up from your home. They would rather buy a brand new one with free delivery services.

Who Will Benefit From Your Donation?

An old table may enable a poor family who just moved in to a new apartment face each other during meals. Between many priorities such as food, clothing and education, an ordinary wage earner could hardly decide to buy a dining table right after moving in.

Many children do not have the luxury of making their homework on a comfortable desk. They do it lying face down on their living room’s floor. For a child, this is not conducive to learning the proper way to write. An old sofa could save a poor child from sleeping on a cold concrete floor. It could also afford an elderly something convenient to rest a tired back.

Whom to Call To Facilitate A Donation?

There are many organizations accepting furniture donations. In the United States, the National Furniture Bank Association networks throughout the country to collect and distribute unwanted old furniture to the needy. Another non-profit organization, Reuse Development Organization or ReDO, encourages reusing of discarded items. Orphanages and centers for homeless people would be very glad to accept your donation.

Some organizations have trucks or similar appropriate vehicle that could pick up your donation. Some have put up a collection depot to store and sort furniture donations before these are shipped out to qualified recipients. Check your local directories to find the ‘Salvation Army’, ‘Big Brothers, Big Sisters’ and the ‘Military Order of Purple Heart’. Check out also if there is a ‘Goodwill Industries’ building near your area.

There are websites such as Freecyle and FreeShare who are networking to accept furniture donations.

Some Ethical Considerations

Keep in mind that the organizations accepting donations are not junkyards. They do not have a hired hand to clean your donations either. As much as possible, clean and sanitize furniture donations. Apply disinfectants and thoroughly clean any furniture donation before having it picked up or delivered to a drop-off point.

It would be best to fix slight damages before handing over your donation, although recipients are expected to that. It has been said from the beginning that discarding unwanted things redeems lost space, but this should not be the entire reason. We must donate furniture not just to get rid of junks. We do it for charity.

You can get your home organized easily by just taking a few small steps every day. Getting your house organized does not have to be overwhelming. These five home organization tips show you how to get organized in just a few minutes every day. Doing every one of these daily should not take you more than 15 minutes each time.

1. File 10 pieces of paper every day.

Now if more than 10 pieces of paper that have to be filed come into your home every day, you’ll need to up this number. One of the biggest challenges in home organization is finding a place for the paper that comes into your home. You would be surprised by what a big difference it makes to take this small step daily. It will help that overflowing “to-be-filed” tray slowly shrink down and help you feel like your home is getting organized.

2. Toss one thing from your kitchen that you do not use.

Your regular everyday trash does not count here. It has to be something that has been hanging around your kitchen for a long time and is something that you know you do not use. I have included this home organization tip as a daily one because the kitchen is one of those places in the home that tends to collect things. Gadgets, spices and that great item that was on sale for such a good deal but is something that your family will never actually eat. If you do not use it or do not like it, toss it out or donate it. It is just hindering you in your home organization journey.

3. Find a permanent home for one thing in your house.

If you’re like many people, getting your house organized has seemed like a big job because nothing in your home seems to “live” in one spot. Your kids’ toys end up in the living room, kitchen, bedroom and sometimes even in your bed. One of the best ways to get your home organized is by just giving every item in your home a place where it “lives.” Every day find a place for an item in your home that is currently homeless. And if you want to keep your home organized, then make sure that everyone in your home knows where that item’s home now is.

4. Toss one item of clothing from your closet.

The closet is one of those places that seem to defy all home organization attempts. Often because there is simply too many clothes for the space. The absolute best piece of home organizing advice I can give you here is this: downsize. Every day take one thing from your closet that either no longer fits you or that you know you would not be caught dead in anyway.

5. Organize one drawer or shelf.

For this particular home organization tip, I suggest that you start small. Start off by organizing a small drawer. If you have small drawers in your bathroom, that is a great place to start. Now when you find one shelf or drawer in your home to organize, make sure that you actually organize it. Take everything out, toss what you do not need anymore and put back the things you do need in some sort of orderly fashion that makes sense for you. There will be areas where you will want to rethink how that whole area of your home is organized. Going through the drawers and shelves of that area individually will help you know what you have in that area and will help you get that part of your home organized more easily when you are ready to tackle that project later on.
